This recipe is perfect for those who love warm, comforting drinks. It's also easy to make and requires only these ingredients. 


Ingredients: 


200g bar of unflavored chocolate, chopped 


600 ml of milk 


150 ml single or double cream  


Sugar (according to taste) 


6 peppermint candy canes (to serve) 


Method: 


Place the milk and chocolate in a pan. Heat the chocolate slowly while stirring until it has completely melted. Heat the milk till it steams, then turn from the heat and mix in the cream. 


Place a candy cane around the top of each mug after dividing the hot chocolate among the six, adding sugar to taste.  


Everyone can stir their hot chocolate with their candy cane, dissolving as much of the sweet peppermint as they choose, as they pass the mugs around. 


  

Eggnog winter drink recipe

Ingredients: 



2 cups of milk 


1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon (plus more for garnish) 


1/2 tablespoon ground nutmeg 


1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract 


6 large egg yolks 


1/2 cup of sugar 


1 cup of heavy cream 


Whipped cream (for serving) 


Method:


Combine milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla in a small saucepan over low heat, and gradually bring the mixture to a low boil. 


Whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a big bowl until the yolks are light in color. To temper, the eggs, gradually add batches of the hot milk mixture while whisking. 


Return the mixture to the pan and, while stirring occasionally, simmer it over medium heat until it slightly thickens and coats the back of a spoon without boiling. The mixture should be 160 degrees (if using a candy thermometer). 


Add the heavy cream after turning off the heat. Keep cold in the refrigerator. 


Add whipped cream and cinnamon as a garnish when you're ready to serve.

Ingredients: 

 


1 (750 ml.) bottle of red wine 


1 orange, cut into rounds, (plus more for garnish)

 

6 whole cloves 


3 cinnamon sticks (plus more for garnish)

 

3-star anise 


1/4 cup of honey 


1/2 cup of brandy 

 

Method:


All ingredients should be combined in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Heat should be turned down to a medium-low simmer instead of a full boil. 10 minutes of gentle simmering at a low temperature. 


Garnish with additional orange slices and cinnamon sticks before serving hot.

½ cup of water

  

4 cups of apples (sliced) 


2 cinnamon sticks

Method: 


To make this spiced apple cider, combine 1/2 cup of water with 2 cinnamon sticks, cloves, and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger. 

 

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until reduced by half. Add 4 cups of apples (peeled, cored, and sliced) and cook until tender.  


Remove from heat and add sugar. Let cool completely before serving. 



Gingerbread Latte winter drink recipe

This recipe combines two of my favorite things – coffee and gingerbread. It’s perfect for those cold winter mornings when you need something warm and comforting.


Ingredients:


1 1/2 teaspoons of ground ginger (plus more to serve) 


1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon 


1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg (plus more to serve) 


2 tablespoons of soft brown sugar 


1/2 tablespoon of vanilla extract 


600 ml whole milk 


2 hot espresso shots (optional) 


whipped cream and little gingerbread men ( to serve) 


Method:


Combine the spices, sugar, and vanilla essence in a bowl. In a pan, heat 100 ml of the milk while whisking to dissolve the sugar in the spice and sugar mixture.  


After adding the remaining milk in small amounts until well combined, heat the mixture until steaming. 

If using, add a shot of espresso to each glass before topping it off with the spiced milk. Add whipped cream, more spices, and a tiny gingerbread man to the top.
